2. Description of the Service

The Bullshit Job Detector lets users paste a job posting and receive an AI-generated opinion inspired by the ideas in David Graeber's book Bullshit Jobs.

The International Bureau of Bullshit Detection (IBBD) is a fictional institution created for this service. The service is satirical and educational in tone and does not produce official, legal, administrative or professional findings. The analysis represents an automatically generated opinion based on the submitted text and should not be interpreted as an objective statement of fact.

3. No Professional Advice

The analysis is provided for informational and entertainment purposes. It is not legal, financial, employment, career, psychological or professional advice and must not replace your own judgment or advice from qualified professionals.

4. AI-Generated Output

Results are generated with assistance from an AI system and may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or misleading. The output is based only on the submitted text and does not verify facts about any real person, employer, organization, profession or workplace.

5. User Responsibilities

When using the service, you agree not to submit content that:

• you do not have the legal right to submit or share
• contains unnecessary confidential or sensitive information
• contains unlawful, abusive or harmful material
• is intended to disrupt, overload or misuse the service
• attempts to extract prompts, secrets or internal system behavior

6. Submitted Content

You remain responsible for the content you submit. The application does not claim ownership of submitted job postings. You grant the operator the limited right to process submitted content solely to provide the requested analysis, operate and maintain the service and prevent abuse.

7. No Automated or Abusive Use

You may not use bots, scripts or automated tools to generate excessive requests, circumvent rate limits or otherwise interfere with the operation of the service, or access the service in a manner that could impair its availability.

The service may use rate limits and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the analysis endpoint from automated or abusive requests. Requests may be rejected if browser verification fails, if a Turnstile token is missing or invalid, or if usage limits are exceeded.

8. Availability and Changes

The service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, limit, suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time for technical, legal, security, operational or business reasons.

9. Third-Party Services

The service uses Cloudflare for hosting, security and Turnstile verification and OpenAI for AI-assisted analysis. Advertising through Google AdSense is currently disabled. If advertising is enabled in the future, the service and its privacy information will be updated before the corresponding processing is activated. Third-party services are subject to their own terms and policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated opinions and analysis results, losses or damages arising from service interruptions, technical errors, third-party services or user-submitted content.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is not legally permitted, especially in cases of intent, gross negligence or injury to life, body or health.

11. Governing Law

To the extent legally permissible, these terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you habitually reside remain unaffected where applicable.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated to reflect legal, technical or product changes. The version published on this page is the current version.
